Increase safety and reduce mental load of the navigation crew

Control (a fleet of) ships from the comfort of the office

Operate your ship 24/7 without the need for a (dedicated) navigation crew

Assisted and safe navigation

MAHI’s solution to assist the vessel master in their navigation duties by showing them an augmented view of their surroundings. MAHI’s state-of-the art situational awareness algorithms turn sensor data (e.g. camera, radar, etc) in real-time insights for the vessel master.

The tablet or screen installed on the bridge shows all detected objects and warns for collision risks. All algorithms run on the MAHI Sense computer onboard the vessel, assuring maximum reliability in environments without connectivity.

Use case - DEME

DEME – an internationally active dredging company – is exploring the potential to transform their split hopper barges to reduced crew and ultimately uncrewed vessels. DEME partnered with MAHI to enhance crew efficiency and the safety of navigation.

MAHI advised DEME on selection of sensor components and successfully installed a MAHI Sense and MAHI Aware UI onboard the Split Hopper Barge

MAHI products in this use case

MAHI Sense computer

  • Autonomous edge computer
  • Marine-grade, small form factor
  • Connect sensors, propulsion & ROC

MAHI Aware

  • Super-human situational awareness & decision support
  • Human-machine optimized
  • Device agnostic (pc, tablet)

Remote operation

MAHI’s solution to operate a vessel from a Remote Operating Center anywhere in the world.

The remote vessel master has a view of all sensor data captured through the MAHI Sense onboard computer. MAHI supports a range of sensors such as camera, audio, depth, wind speed, etc. depending on your needs. Any action taken by the remote vessel master through the throttle sticks or mission planner are relayed to the vessel systems through the onboard MAHI Sense computer.

Redundant vessel-to-shore connectivity is availble for both mobile and satelite data to assure reliable operation in low-connectivity areas.

Use case - UltraTug

UltraTug – one of the leading harbour and offshore towage services providers in the Americas – partnered with MAHI to operate their tugboats remotely. The fleet of tugboats managed by UltraTug travel regularly between the major Chilean ports for their operations. UltraTug is exploring remote operation of their tugboats to alleviate the workload of onboard navigators and increase safety during manned operations.

MAHI advised UltraTug on the selection of sensor components. and installed a redundant MAHI Sense system and MAHI Aware UI onboard the workboat. MAHI is installing a Remote Operations Center on shore and training the vessel masters to remotely operate their tugboats.

Remote supervision & autonomous navigation

MAHI’s solution for remote supervision and autonomous vessel operation.

The MAHI Sense onboard computer can autonomously determine and execute local paths to reach a set destination and avoid collisions. All computations are executed locally, allowing the autonomy to work without external connectivity.

Redundant vessel-to-shore connectivity is availble for both mobile and satelite data to allow onshore navigation teams to supervise the vessel operations.
